Lupin (pronounced Lupan) is a beautiful dark fawn to light brown with a very dense, shiny and tightly crimped fleece. He is the grandson of Ppperuvian Augusto. Lupin is medium sized, weighing about 180 lbs with nearly full fleece at 2 1/2 years of age. Lupin has done very well in halter and fleece show competitions, with a total of more than 30 ribbons. This includes 15 first place awards, and 9 Color and Reserve Championships. The total list follows in the Awards section. In June 2007 Lupin won a Blue Ribbon & Reserve Color Champion at the Estes Park Wool Market Fleece Show and in August he won a Blue Ribbon & Reserve Color Champion at the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show. To win Reserve Color Champion twice from his third year fleece is truly amazing, especially when considering the usual strong competition from juveniles and yearlings in the Championship placings. The main factors in Lupin's fleece competition success are his great crimp, density,uniformity and wonderful handle. Lupin's Sire Codi's Dinomite, won 2nd place in the 1999 AOBA Fleece Show out of 25 entries. Lupin's dam FRLA Desert Dawn, is a Blue ribbon winner and his sister, Meesha, has several Fleece Championships. At the 2009 CABA Classic Level IV Halter show in Portland, OR Lupin' offspring,Crystal Valley's Amber, won 2nd place Halter in a class of 8. |
